The 4th Autism Awareness Charity Gala Dinner: Celebrating Five Years of Impact

On 31st January 2026, Lukiza Autism Foundation hosted its 4th Autism Awareness Charity Gala Dinner at Mlimani City hall, bringing together families, partners, and different stakeholders to celebrate five years of impact in Autism support and advocacy.

The evening focused on

  • Raising funds to continue the implementation of the Ustawi Kwa Kila Mtoto – Viashiria vya Usonji project.
  • Honouring key individuals who made significant contributions to Autism and related fields in 2025.
  • Appreciating parents and caregivers of children with Autism.
  • Uniting stakeholders across the Autism and related sectors to network, celebrate, and advocate.
  • Launching the 5th season of the Run 4 Autism Tanzania Half Marathon, scheduled for 4th April 2026. Registration is now open via www.run4autismmarathon.co.tz

We were honoured to welcome Mama Mary Rusimbi as the Guest of Honour. Mama Mary is the Founder of Nendiwe Feminist & Wellness Centre and a Member of the Board of Trustees of Women Fund Tanzania TRUST (WFTT). She is a renowned Tanzanian activist, researcher, and consultant in gender and development. Her presence added inspiration to an evening celebrating five years of Lukiza Autism Foundation’s impact, recognising remarkable contributions in Autism advocacy, appreciating parents and caregivers, and raising funds for continued community programs. The Gala highlighted what can be achieved when communities, partners, and individuals come together to empower children and youth with Autism and support families across Tanzania.
